💭 When You’re Actually Doing the Work, It’s More Than What Most People Do

Because behind every ‘just keep going’ quote, a human is trying to hold it all together.

I was scrolling through TikTok the other night, half-tired, half trying to unwind from a long day of mum life, when I came across a video that stopped me.

A creator I follow was talking about another woman who’s been showing up, posting, putting in the effort, staying consistent, and actually starting to see results.

Then she said something that hit me deeply:

“When you’re actually doing the work and trying to make it work, it’s a lot more than what most people would say they do.”

And she’s right.

Because let’s be honest, it’s easy to talk about “showing up,” “being consistent,” or “trusting the process.”

But living it, day after day, is something else entirely.

🌿 When motivation meets real life

It’s one thing to plan your goals when everything’s calm and predictable.

It’s another thing when you’re trying to build something, whether it’s your business, your career, or even your confidence, with a baby on your lap, dishes piled in the sink, and your brain running on three hours of sleep.

That’s when “doing the work” becomes real.

For me, that looks like typing one paragraph while my baby naps beside me, writing notes on my phone while feeding, or brainstorming ideas in my head while folding laundry, which I do all the time, lol.

It doesn’t look fancy or perfectly planned. But it’s work. It’s showing up, even in the smallest ways.

And unless you’ve been in that phase, where your dreams compete with your reality, you might not understand how much it takes to keep going.

✨ The truth behind progress

No one tells you how emotional it feels when you’re giving your best, yet progress feels slow.

No one tells you that “showing up” sometimes means holding back tears and still hitting publish.

No one tells you that believing in yourself gets tested the most when no one seems to be watching.

But when you’re actually doing the work, you know that every effort counts.

You start to understand that results aren’t just numbers or followers; they’re the quiet moments where you chose persistence over giving up.

You realise that you’ve grown, not just in skill, but in resilience.

💛 Keep showing up; it matters more than you think

I’ve learned that real growth doesn’t always look like success from the outside.

Sometimes, it’s invisible, like staying patient through the process or choosing to learn instead of quitting.

Because the truth is, it’s always more than what the majority of people do.

Doing the work means carrying self-doubt, exhaustion, and sometimes loneliness, yet still believing your efforts will add up one day.

It means trusting that every little post, every late-night thought, and every small action is all building something.

Everyone claps when the results show up.
