Some cartoon themes live in your head forever.

These are the ones that still hit for me. They’re the ones you can still sing every word of. The ones that feel almost as fun as the show itself.

Here are ten that still slap.

1. Pepper Ann

“Who’s that girl? What’s her name? Is she cool? Is she lame?”

Fast, talky, a little awkward, and completely committed to introducing its weird little protagonist in under a minute. Extremely fun to sing. Still is, and I’m singing it now.

2. Darkwing Duck

As a kid this one felt a little scary in the best way. There’s real theatrical swagger in it. A perfect Disney rap, and as a result, we know who to call when there’s trouble.

3. Arthur

Ziggy Marley and ska on a kids’ show. Heck yes.

It works perfectly. The theme has an easy, rolling groove. This was my 3 p.m. comfort watch for many years, and the song is still tied to that feeling.

4. The Flintstones

I think everyone knows this one.

Simple, catchy, and completely stuck in the cultural water supply. It’s one of those songs you didn’t even realize you’d memorized until you were already singing it.

5. The Jetsons

Like The Flintstones, but with space-age bounce and little futuristic sound effects. The way the lyrics are spaced out (Jane, his wife) gives it this almost metallic, bouncy rhythm that is so enjoyable to sing along with.

6. SpongeBob SquarePants

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Y’all know who.

The pirate-accent delivery makes it extra fun. The words are delightful, like how often do you hear ‘absorbent’ and ‘porous’ in a song? The energy is pure chaos just like SB himself.

7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (original)

Pure hype song.

It doesn’t overthink anything. It just gets the blood moving. Classic turtle power.

8. Pinky and the Brain

Almost like jazz or tap. That relentless “Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain” repetition make it sticky.
