Joe Lynn Turner: The Faithful Call

The man opened his eyes because of strange sound came from nearby. The phone rang in the West Village’s house where he lived. By the way, when a man was looking for a job to escape poverty, he caught a cold. Therefore, his days looked about the same: a mountain of medicines and a bed. When he woke up, he got up and went to the source of the noise.

He picked up.

• Are you from the IRS? Go to hell!

- Wait, man. I’m a Deep Purple manager and I have Richie Blackmore nearby…

“Is this a joke?”

- Hello, I’m Richie Blackmore. I appreciate you as a vocalist. I often listen Fandango. You’re singing like Mark Farner from Grand Funk Railroad. You know, we’re rehearsing in the studio, and looking for a vocalist. So come on over!

The man was amazed and decided to ask again.

• Isn’t that Graham Bonnet singing?

- Come on, man, — Richie sad and gave him the studio’s address.

Nothing to say, his jaw dropped. As a Deep Purple fan, guitar player who imitates Blackmore’s solo it couldn’t have been a dream… Richie Blackmore will pay attention. Of course, he couldn’t miss the opportunity and went to audition cursing himself for catching a cold at the worth time.

Only the vocal lessons which he recently started to take from high class New York’s specialist, helped him here. Even in a cold state you can sing but you should learn. Fortunately, he could.

He got off the subway. At first, he was nervous. The audition lasted about six hours — it’s exactly like David Coverdale’s time!

The guys from the band said a lot like:

“Sing”, “Sing again”, “Sing something from your head”, “Can you write a lyrics?” and many many others.

He voiced the compositions which were recorded with Bonnet and vocals were removed from some of them that the beginner can sing.

When he stand in front of the microphone, he improvised a music, a lyrics and the melodies were so brilliant that he was immediately accepted.

After that, Roger Glover went, listened to the recordings and informed that it’s too late now but they should wake up early tomorrow that to continue their work. Roger make a decision to rent a hotel room to the man near the studio so as not to walk all the way across town.

The singer understood that Glover like this recordings so this is a good sign. Then Blackmore went, brought the beer and informed that guy is our new member. This guy is Joe Lynn Turner, and he is one of the best vocalists in all of rock-’n’-roll world.
