When the Curriculum is Self-Written: A Polymath’s Journey into AI

In a society that loves labels, we are often asked to choose a single lane. If you are a writer, stay with your words. If you are an artist, stay with your canvas. And if you want to touch technology, you had better have a degree in computer science.

But what happens when your vision demands that you cross those borders?

When I first envisioned DASTAAN, I knew words alone wouldn’t be enough to contain the depth of the feeling (ehsas) I wanted to convey. I needed a visual language. And to build that language in the modern era, I realized I had to master a tool that seemed completely alien to my world: Artificial Intelligence.

I had no formal background in IT. I didn’t hold a degree in engineering. For someone like me, staring at the fast-evolving landscape of AI felt like looking at a mountain with no clear climbing trail.

There was no university professor to guide me. There was no pre-packaged syllabus. If I wanted to learn, I had to write my own curriculum.

Learning in the Spaces of Silence

Being a self-taught creative polymath means becoming comfortable with trial and error. It means spending nights decoding the syntax of prompts, understanding how algorithms interpret human emotion, and failing repeatedly until the screen finally reflects the exact image living inside your mind.

Every platform I built, every website line I configured, and every visual I generated was born from hours of solitary experimentation.

There were moments of deep frustration when the technology felt cold and unyielding—a sharp contrast to the fluid, emotional world of storytelling. I often asked myself: Why am I pushing into a territory where I don’t "belong"?

But then I remembered the fragments.

Technology, to me, was never about the cold silicon or the numbers. It was simply a new brush. A more complex, modern brush that could help me paint the traditional, ancient soul of my stories.

By refusing to stay in one lane, I discovered that the human heart and artificial intelligence could meet at a beautiful crossroads. The tech became the bridge that allowed my words to finally find their true face.

Redefining the Self-Taught Path

We often think of learning as something that only happens within four walls, dictated by someone else’s timeline. But the most profound learning happens when you are driven by an obsessive need to create something that does not yet exist.

To my fellow creatives who feel restricted by what they "know" or what their degree says: do not let a lack of formal education block your vision. * If the tool you need doesn’t fit your background, learn it anyway.

• If the curriculum doesn’t exist, write it yourself.
• If the path isn’t cleared, walk until a trail appears.

Today, Goshah-e-Ehsas stands not just as a gallery of art, but as living proof that a storyteller can conquer technology. The pieces are no longer scattered. The curriculum is complete, and the journey has only just begun.
