It Will Come Back To Bite You

Think about how easy it is to be reckless with your time and give up on any attempt to manage it wisely. You have to admit it looks exhilarating, exciting, and freeing, even. In that moment, you are no longer confined to the limits of a schedule, routine or expectations of what to achieve.
You are no longer “limited” in testing out side quests because you have veered off the main quest itself.

It’s all fun and games, enjoying your youth and making bad decisions, making reckless decisions because you only live once. The horror of it all is that only living once is not an excuse to be reckless with one’s time, life, or decisions.
Only living once has been so adapted to imply living like you are balancing a pencil on a needle; at first, it’s wobbly, then it gets stable, but if a little wind blows on it, it loses balance and tips over. That’s much like living recklessly, hopping on the next adventure because it sounds fun, having absolutely no self-control and making decisions you did not think through at all because you don’t know any better.
Because you never paid attention to the need to build personal values, you let anybody have access to you; anybody can dictate what to do; anyone can rope you into an activity because everyone knows that you’re fine with whatever and down for whenever. This means they can get you to indulge in time-wasting endeavours because you had no better use of your time to begin with.
Truly, you only live once.
Just as in pop culture, the general idea behind it all should not be embraced by someone who has an idea of how they want their life to turn out.
You only live once, which should also mean making the best of the life you have, not by being reckless or engaging in disastrous activities.
If you only live once, why not have the best life?
It’s important to note that with every other opinion in life, “the best life” is subjective. Your idea of a best life might be reckless, whereas another’s idea of a best life is responsible living. But still, why not manage your time more wisely? Take caution to be intentional about how you spend it and achieve your goals in a set timeframe. Whatever your idea of a best life is, remember to live it responsibly with proper use of God-given time.
If this has been resonating with you and holding down on your chest, then you should reevaluate your priorities, review your goals and go with the decision best aligned with the future you really want. Be honest with yourself, your life can’t improve if you don’t fight what is destroying it.

Tick off important tasks when due, make decisions while being conscious of the inevitable future and how heavily your decision would impact it, because just like financial interests, decisions also compound and can blow up in your face or give you a harder boost.
Know that time lost can’t be recovered and that you will always face the consequences of your actions. We all have the same 24 hours to use. Some have accomplished the unimaginable through wise usage of their time, while others waste theirs.
On one end of the spectrum, one invests in their dream life at night; on the other hand, one gets wasted. In the day, one attacks pressing tasks; on the other hand, another uses social media to ignore matters of importance.
Bad decisions come around and bite you; good decisions always come back with a kiss and a hug. They both bring rewards for your actions, whether done responsibly or not.
We are blessed with being able to make decisions, but these decisions are up to you. What will you use your time to do?
And if you do want to regain control when you catch yourself falling again, the trick is to ask yourself, “If I continue doing this, how will it come back to meet me?”

Allow me to wallow a bit.
I feel like my writing is getting monotonous. Like I’ve been writing the same thing, just in different shades. Which explains why I’ve been on and off lately, it feels like I’m repeating the same thing over and again, and nobody really resonates with it. I don’t want to keep writing what isn’t helping people.
If you’d like me to help explain anything bugging you (Regarding self-improvement and personal development), please let me know in the comments so I can write an article explaining it.
Thank you.
