Cardano Weekly Development Update
Cardano’s latest weekly development update focused on improving core infrastructure, developer experience, scalability, and governance. The core technology team streamlined tracing systems, enhanced performance, and advanced Leios integration, while the ledger team continued Dijkstra-era development and protocol improvements. Lace 2.1 introduced major wallet security enhancements and usability upgrades, and the Plutus team optimized smart contract performance, benchmarking, and formal verification. Developer tooling progressed with reusable contract libraries and the new cardano-init framework to simplify onboarding. On the scaling front, Hydra improved node configuration and reliability, while Mithril advanced recursive SNARK development and node integration. Governance activities continue with Constitutional Committee elections underway, and the research team is preparing the Cardano Vision 2026 mid-year report alongside technical workshops on zero-knowledge verification.

Preparing the Constitution for Dijkstra: upcoming parameter updates
Cardano is preparing a focused constitutional amendment ahead of the Dijkstra hard fork to ensure new protocol features, including Ouroboros Leios and nested transactions, can be governed from day one. Because the Constitution only allows governance to modify protocol parameters explicitly listed in its Guardrails, the update will add the new Dijkstra parameters and their allowable ranges without changing any governance roles, voting thresholds, or constitutional principles. The proposal will be developed in collaboration with the Parameter Committee and submitted as a single governance action before epoch 655 (September 11, 2026), with community feedback encouraged throughout the drafting process to ensure transparent and effective governance.

Cosmos Hub Weekly Update #9: July 9, 2026

Cosmos Hub’s latest weekly recap highlighted key progress across tokenomics, validators, interoperability, and infrastructure. Gauntlet’s Phase 1 ATOM tokenomics report is ready for community review, providing deeper insights into sell pressure, staking behavior, and future economic design. The validator team focused on improving set health through a more targeted Q3 delegation cycle and testnet participation requirements. The Injective USDC migration advanced with precompile development and interim two-click flows, while a small Hub software upgrade is being prepared to enable Hydro deployment. Overall, the Hub continues progressing toward a more sustainable, scalable, and utility-driven ecosystem.

Cosmos Labs and Peersyst Formalize Partnership to Bring Blockchain Infrastructure to Central Banks and Financial Institutions
Cosmos Labs has expanded its partnership with Peersyst Technology to accelerate the adoption of Cosmos-based solutions among central banks, governments, and financial institutions across Latin America and Spain. Leveraging Peersyst’s experience in regulated blockchain deployments and Cosmos’ interoperable ledger technology, the collaboration aims to help institutions build scalable digital infrastructure. Peersyst’s previous work includes developing the XRPL EVM sidechain on the Cosmos stack, which surpassed $358 million in tokenized assets within six months, highlighting the growing demand for institutional-grade interoperability and tokenization solutions.

ATOM Tokenomics: Phase 1 Outcomes
Cosmos Labs has released Gauntlet’s Phase 1 analysis on redesigning ATOM’s token economics, providing data-driven insights into inflation, sell pressure, and staking behavior. The research found that ATOM sell pressure is relatively small and concentrated among a limited number of large holders, with most flows moving through centralized exchanges, while staking demand remains strong with record-high staking TVL. The findings suggest that the key challenge is not simply reducing inflation, but improving how staking rewards create value for the network. Phase 2 will explore more sustainable mechanisms, including dynamic issuance, improved reward liquidity management, stronger security metrics, and turning staked ATOM into a productive asset that supports Hub services and generates new revenue streams.
