Day 11 of Learning German ๐ฉ๐ช โ I Learned to Talk About My Daily Life
For the past 10 days, Iโve been building my German step by step.
Day 11 of Learning German ๐ฉ๐ช โ I Learned to Talk About My Daily Life
For the past 10 days, Iโve been building my German step by step.
Words. Sentences. Questions. Even small conversations.
Yesterday, I tried my first real conversation.
It was simple.
But it worked.
Today, I wanted to go further.
I wanted to talk about my daily life.
Not just basic answers.
But real things I do every day.
๐ Why This Step Is Important
Until now, my German was limited.
I could:
- Introduce myself
- Ask simple questions
- Say basic things
But real conversations need more.
They need everyday topics.
So I asked myself:
โCan I describe my day in German?โ
That became my goal.
๐ง What I Focused On Today
I kept things simple.
I focused on:
- Daily activities
- Common verbs
- Simple time expressions
Nothing advanced.
Just practical language.
๐ New Vocabulary I Learned
Today I learned words I can actually use:
- aufstehen โ to wake up
- essen โ to eat
- trinken โ to drink
- arbeiten โ to work
- schlafen โ to sleep
And also:
- morgens โ in the morning
- abends โ in the evening
- heute โ today
๐ฌ Building Simple Daily Sentences
Then I started forming sentences:
- Ich stehe morgens auf โ I wake up in the morning
- Ich esse Frรผhstรผck โ I eat breakfast
- Ich arbeite heute โ I work today
- Ich lerne Deutsch โ I learn German
- Ich schlafe abends โ I sleep in the evening
These are simple.
But they describe real life.
๐คฏ The Difficult Part โ Word Order
I noticed something new.
German sentence structure changes sometimes.
For example:
- Ich stehe morgens auf
The verb โaufstehenโ splits.
That confused me.
At first, I thought:
โWhy is the word separated?โ
๐ก What I Understood
German has something called separable verbs.
Example:
- aufstehen โ stehe โฆ auf
This felt strange.
But after repeatingโฆ
It started to make sense.
๐ How I Practiced Today
I didnโt try to learn too much.
Instead, I:
- Took 4โ5 sentences
- Repeated them
- Changed small parts
Example:
- Ich esse โ I eat
- Ich esse heute โ I eat today
Small changes.
Big impact.
๐ Speaking Practice
Today I focused again on speaking.
I tried to say a full routine:
Ich stehe morgens auf. Ich esse Frรผhstรผck. Ich arbeite. Ich lerne Deutsch. Ich schlafe abends.
At first, it felt slow.
But after a few triesโฆ
It became smoother.
โ ๏ธ What Felt Difficult
Letโs be honest.
Today had challenges:
- Separable verbs were confusing
- Word order felt strange
- I forgot words sometimes
At one point, I stopped and thought:
โThis is getting harder.โ
๐ก What Helped Me
I didnโt panic.
I simplified.
- Short sentences
- Repetition
- Slow practice
And that helped me move forward.
๐ง What I Realized Today
Something important clicked:
Language is about patterns.
Once you see the patternโฆ
It becomes easier.
๐ฏ What I Learned Today
- I can talk about my daily life
- Verbs are very important
- Word order takes practice
- Repetition builds confidence
๐ฅ Whatโs Next?
Now that I can describe my dayโฆ
Tomorrow, I want to:
Learn more vocabulary to describe feelings and opinions.
So I can say more than just actions.
๐ฌ Final Thoughts
Day 11 felt like progress.
Because nowโฆ
Iโm not just saying basic things.
Iโm describing real life.
If youโre learning German too, try this:
Talk about your day.
Even with simple sentences.
Because thatโs how the language becomes useful.
