QuickBooks. What is it Used for? Continued

Yesterday, we looked at the introduction to QuickBooks and had details about QuickBooks online. Today, we shall be looking at the desktop (the group that requires no internet to work) edition in detail. There are two groups in this part of QuickBooks. We are QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Enterprise. Today, we shall be looking at QuickBooks Desktop only.

There are mainly three types of QuickBooks desktop.

QuickBooks Training

QuickBooks Desktop Pro.

This is that edition of QuickBooks that is recommended for small enterprises. It will generally cost something around $250 to buy the license. It tracks transactions, income and expenses, basic inventory and so on. It can have up to three user licenses.

QuickBooks Desktop Premier

This can have up to five user licenses, it is able to track sales orders, inventory assemblies, multiple units of measurement. It is recommended for businesses with medium size activities. This means, it can handle certain activities but may not be able to carry out advanced transactions and processes. it will generally cost about $400 to get the silence for this edition

QuickBooks Desktop Accountant.

This edition has more complex accountant functions compared to the first two we have seen so far. It is good to note that this is specially built for accountants or those who have accounting knowledge. It can perform batch reclassify transactions, batch enter transactions, it can have up to five user licenses. It will generally cost about $500 to get this.

As an addition to these editions, it is possible to add the PLUS edition. For example QuickBooks Premier Plus. This will call for an additional monthly cost and additional functionality as well.
