How I Finally Fixed My Dehydration Problem in 30 Days

I used to be dehydrated all the time.
Headaches in the afternoon. Low energy by 3pm. Dry skin. Constipation. I knew I needed to drink more water, but I just couldn’t remember.
Then I stopped trying to remember and started tracking.
Here is exactly what I did for 30 days, and how you can do the same.
The Problem with Just Drink More Water
Telling yourself to drink more water doesn’t work because:
-
You forget
-
You don’t know how much you actually drank
-
There is no feedback loop
I needed a system.
The Simple Solution
I printed a 30-day water tracker and put it on my fridge. Every time I finished a glass of water, I checked one box.
No app. No notifications. Just a simple paper tracker.
Here is what I learned:
Week 1: I was only drinking 3–4 glasses per day. No wonder I felt tired.
Week 2: I started carrying a water bottle. My intake jumped to 6 glasses.
Week 3: I added lemon and cucumber for flavor. Now I looked forward to drinking water.
Week 4: I consistently hit 8 glasses per day. My afternoon headaches disappeared. My skin looked better. I had more energy.
The Formula That Worked
I used this simple calculation:
Your weight in pounds divided by 2 equals ounces of water per day
For me (150 lbs): 150 divided by 2 equals 75 ounces per day
75 ounces divided by 8 ounces per glass equals about 9 glasses per day
5 Hydration Hacks That Actually Work
-
Drink a glass right when you wake up before coffee, before phone, before anything
-
Keep a water bottle on your desk out of sight, out of mind. In sight, in hand.
-
Add flavor lemon, cucumber, mint, or berries make water taste better
-
Drink before every meal one glass, 30 minutes before eating
-
Set a visual reminder a paper tracker on the fridge that I saw every single day
What I Use Now
I created a printable 30-day water tracker that includes a water goal calculator based on your weight, 30 days of checkboxes for 8 glasses per day, and hydration tips I actually use.
Get my printable tracker here: https://payhip.com/HealthyRoots
It is $5 and downloads instantly.
I also use a weekly wellness planner that tracks water alongside sleep, movement, and mood. That one is $7.
