MatPat Declares Retirement from YouTube

The creator of The Game Theorists, MatPat, has officially announced his retirement from YouTube. In a recent video titled ‘Goodbye Internet,’ Matthew Patrick, known as MatPat, revealed that March 9 would mark his final day hosting the YouTube franchise, and he will be passing on the channels to someone else.

Reflecting on his journey, MatPat expressed his desire to exit on a high note. In the video, he stated, ‘For me, and my journey in this place, I always wanted to go out on a high note. And when you stop and look at the last year, this has been the best year in the Theorist lifespan, no joke.’

MatPat, along with his wife Stephanie, founded Game Theorists in 2011, providing a platform to delve into the lore and intriguing theories surrounding popular video games. Over the years, he expanded his influence by launching various spin-off channels, including Film Theorists, Food Theorists, and Style Theorists.
