Why I Think Kamala Harris Shouldn’t Run For President

And what I think she should do instead

Putting on my armor because I know that I’m going to take a beating for this.

Okay, I think I’m ready.

Long time readers … at least those who stuck with me despite the outcome of the 2024 election … know that I think that Kamala Harris is a terrible candidate and after two failed attempts, the last thing she should do is run for president a third time.

Well, she never takes my advice. And not only is she coyly hinting at running again, but she is pressing DNC Chairman Ken Martin to release the postmortem report of how she lost the 2024 election.

Martin prefers to keep the report under wraps. Smart man. It won’t help the Democrats in 2024 who need help, not distractions.

But Kamala is insisting that it be released.

See, this is why she keeps losing elections. She makes terrible decisions. Does she really want the entire world to know how she lost an election despite spending $1.5 billion? Or how her campaign made “300+ million phone calls in 2024 — more than any campaign in history — only 3% of the calls the Harris campaign made actually resulted in a contact with a voter?”

Kamala, Kamala, Kamala. It’s time to move on. You’re obsession with your 2024 election loss is starting to look a lot like Trump’s obsession with his 2020 election loss.

And no, I’m not being racist or sexist … two of the nicer things I was called when I predicted that she would lose in 2024.

NBC News is reporting that when she asked the Rev. Al Sharpton for advice:

“Sharpton told her that she has nothing to prove, having been the first woman and the first woman of color elected to the vice presidency, according to a person who detailed their conversation. In her 2024 bid for the White House, brought on by the late withdrawal of President Joe Biden, Harris collected more votes — 75 million — than any previous runner-up.

Her legacy is secure, Sharpton told her. But he also admonished her that she should consider the possibility that it might be diminished if she were to run and lose again.”

And then there is the little matter of the fact that while she stubbornly clings to the middle, the Democratic Party has moved further to the left. The Democrats who are generating the most excitement are progressives like NYC mayor, Zohran Mamdani (D) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY).

For anyone who is still reading, I will repeat what I have been saying since Kamala lost the 2024 election. She should be running for governor in California. Failing that, she shouldn’t run for president a third time. Just like in 2020, she won’t make it through the primaries.

What she should do instead, is support and campaign for whoever the Democratic nominee is in 2028. Then, once that person has won, lobby to be AG. Oh, she would make a splendid Attorney General.

If Biden had appointed her as his AG, Trump would be sitting in a jail cell now instead of polluting the Oval Office. The Jan 6 rioters would still be jail. Reneé Good and Alex Pretti would still be alive. Thousands of government workers would still be employed. The East Wing would still be standing.

Once Trump is gone … Grim Reaper, are you listening? … and the Republicans have been soundly trounced both in Congress and the White House, there will be so much to do to get the country back on its feet.

An important part of that will be the DOJ prosecuting all of the people who enabled Trump and nearly destroyed the country. Kamala would be the perfect person to head up that DOJ.
