This Memorial Day.

Bridge Crew, I need to set the usual topics aside today.

No governance frameworks. No platform strategy. No racing analogies. Not this time.

This is about something bigger than all of it.

Memorial Day is not a holiday. It is a day of reckoning. A day when a nation pauses to account for the price of its freedom. And that price was paid, in full, by men and women who raised their right hand, stepped forward, and never came home.

I am a United States Marine. That fact shapes everything about how I lead, serve, and show up for this team and this community. It is woven into the fabric of who I am. And on this day, it weighs heavy.

Because I came home. Not everyone did.

Gratitude, Respect, Remembrance.

Gratitude. Respect. Remembrance.

xtype is a multinational company. Our team spans continents, cultures, and time zones. We are American, Israeli, European, and more. And among our ranks are veterans who served in uniform before they ever wrote a line of code or stepped into a customer meeting.

That is not a footnote. It is a foundation.

The discipline. The accountability. The commitment to something larger than yourself. These are the values that military service instills, and they are the same values we carry into how we lead, serve, and show up for one another every day.

To every veteran on the xtype team, and to every veteran reading this who carries names, faces, and memories from their service: we see you. We honor what you carry. And we carry the lessons you brought home from your service into the work we do together.

There is a truth about military service that civilians rarely see.

For every service member who steps onto the front line, there is a family holding the line at home. A spouse managing alone. A child wondering why mom or dad is not at the dinner table. A parent staring at the phone, waiting for a call that may or may not come.

Military families do not wear the uniform. But they carry the weight of service just the same.

This Memorial Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to the families who endured the unimaginable. You lost your most precious gift in service to this nation: the person you loved most. That sacrifice is not forgotten. Not by us. Not ever.

At 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, xtype will observe a moment of silence across every office, every home workspace, every corner of the globe where our team operates.

We ask you to join us.

Wherever you are. Whatever you are doing. Pause. Breathe. And remember.

Remember the names you carry. Remember the stories you have heard. Remember the empty chairs at kitchen tables and the folded flags on mantels.

One minute. That is all we ask. One minute of stillness for those who gave a lifetime.

Carry Their Spirit Forward.

This is not a day for sales pitches or calls to action. It is a day for reflection.

But if there is one thing I have learned, both as a Marine and as someone who has the privilege of serving alongside this extraordinary xtype team, it is this: the best way to honor sacrifice is to live a life worthy of it.

Show up. Serve others. Do the hard things. Hold yourself accountable. And never take for granted the freedom that someone else purchased with their life.

And to those on this team whose families are serving right now, in this moment, in harm’s way: we carry you too. Your sacrifice is not distant history. It is present. It is personal. And it sits at this table with all of us.

President Kennedy reminded us in 1963: “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”

Today, we live by them.
