譯者按：〈工人眼中的歷史〉為東德劇作家布萊希特1935年的詩作。我在百度文庫上找到**簡體翻譯版**，經過潤飾與交叉比對其他英文版本後（原文以德文寫作，英文版也是由德文翻譯而來因此有不同英譯版），將中譯版放在這裡。我沒有英文專業背景，如有錯誤煩請指正。

Who built the seven gate of Thebes, the books are filled with the name of kings. Was it kings who hauled the craggy blocks of stones? 底比斯七門何人建起 問青史，唯帝王之名 難道是帝王搬起了基石與牆磚？

And Babylon, so many times destroyed. Who built the city up each time? 幾番傾頹的巴比倫 是誰屢次將它重建？

In which of Lima’s houses, the city glittering with gold, live those who built it? 金碧輝煌的利馬城 打造者棲居何處？

In the evening when the Chinese wall finished, where did the masons go? 萬里長城完工之夜 工匠們又要去往何方？

.Imperial Rome is full of arcs of triumph, who reared them up? Over whom did the Caesar triumph? 帝國羅馬，笑盡凱旋 那是誰的心血 凱薩的勝利又構築在誰之上？
