His Wife Went from Loving to Ruthless in 0.2 Seconds After Discovering Her Husband’s Side Piece

His wallet hasn’t stopped screaming

This is the well-disguised tale about my friend’s discovery of her husband’s betrayal. It remains shocking to me how brazen her spouse was. And how viciously my gentle friend responded. The names have been changed.

Yet another vase of pink flowers sat at the edge of her desk, gorgeous. The vase held large, open pink peonies, her favorite flower. Jack had gotten two dozen for her, for no reason. His weekly flowers were a pleasure. Sarah smiled and gave herself a brief hug — how lucky was she to have a man who loved her and showed her he did.

Sarah continued to open the mail. There was an envelope from a flower shop addressed to Jack. The envelope was for him, but curiosity got the better of her. How much were those weekly flowers? She opened it.

The bill was for a standing order of two bouquets always sent to the same two addresses. Her, and someone named Nicki. Why would Jack send flowers to another woman every time he sent flowers to her?

She glanced at the beautiful peonies again, sitting still, eyes closed, fists clenched, her breath ragged. Then she moved them from her desk to the living room.

She couldn’t help herself. Jack had never given her a reason to distrust him. She went on the internet with the name from the invoice and found an image. A woman, maybe ten years younger than her, pretty, with long dark hair and dark eyes. Her full name was Nicki Sutton.

Sarah set up another Gmail account, then made up a fake Instagram account with the Gmail. She located and then followed Nicki’s account.

Nicki was engaged. To Jack. Pictures of Jack and Nicki were all over her posts. It was audacious. Was Jack so sure of her cluelessness that he was cheating on her with a woman who posted pictures of them? He was. And she had been oblivious.

Now that she knew about Nicki, she started paying attention. She seldom checked their credit cards or bank accounts. Why would she? Money had never been a thing. Her grandmother left her a trust, which she received upon graduating from college and turning 25.

Jack handled their finances, and most obligations, including credit cards, were on autopay. When was the last time she had paid attention to what was actually being spent? They were comfortable. She was living in a happy bubble, thinking her life was great, when in reality, her husband was seeing another woman.

He had grown careless. Looking through their finances, she found Jack was withdrawing substantial amounts of cash from their joint account. Her pay and his pay were automatically deposited into their joint account every month. The funds that should have gone into their savings were being diverted elsewhere.

She did not confront Jack immediately, but she made silent moves. She began by diverting 75% of her paycheck to an account with only her name on it. Then she used one of Jack’s tricks: she began withdrawing cash from their joint account and depositing it into her personal account.

She called her mother’s long-time attorney, who recommended a divorce attorney. Mr. Brian Wilson was an older gentleman who listened to her patiently, examined the bank statements, Instagram screenshots, and the flower shop receipt.

He instructed what to do. A deceitful man must be finessed. Could she continue to play the dutiful wife for a while longer? They needed time to identify what else Jack was up to. Turns out, there was a lot. Jack owned the condo that his mistress lived in. He financed the car she drove. He was giving Nicki a monthly stipend — all from their assets.

To make it even more horrible, the reason he could even spend so freely was the money she deposited from her trust account, along with her paycheck. She put monthly dispersals of $4,500 into their joint account. Over the six years of their marriage, she had made deposits of over $324K to their joint account.

In addition, her inheritance provided the entire down payment on their home, since they used her financial status. She funded their vacations. And unknowingly, her inheritance money provided for his mistress.

Her legal team found Jack had been involved with Nicki for two years. She used to be his boss’s assistant. Now, she did not work. Her husband took care of Nicki. The lawyers also found that Nicki was cheating on Jack. The evenings Jack spent with Sarah, Nicki had company of her own.

Their seventh wedding anniversary was an event to be celebrated. Lucky seven. Jack had not waited to get the seven-year itch before cheating.

It was a weekend destination affair in Florida. All their friends and family were there. They had a wonderful time. Jack came to the affair directly from a “work trip,” which was not really a work trip. It had been a tryst with Nicki.

While he was on his work trip, Sarah had his belongings packed. On the morning of the last day of the celebration, right after the big party, Sarah had Jack served with divorce papers. It was Jack telling everyone what she did. It was her telling everyone who asked exactly why she was divorcing him.

Jack was treacherous — he immediately transferred most of their money into his personal account, finally aware that she had slowly drained their accounts for 4 months without adding any money from her trust. She paid the balance for the trip, then removed him as an authorized user on all of her credit cards. Jack had insisted that he did not need his own cards; hers worked just fine for him.

In the end, because there was a prenup, Jack walked away with everything he had brought into the marriage, his designer clothing, his luxury car, plus another $150K. Her trust was her money only since she had had it before they married.

No spousal support due to his affair. He would not be living the way he had become accustomed to. In fact, Nicki wouldn’t be living the way she had become accustomed to. The divorce agreement required him to sell that condo and split the proceeds from the sale.

In the end, even though she technically won, Sarah was devastated once the divorce was finalized. Only those who knew her well knew the truth of how hurt she was over Jack.

Sarah is my example that money can’t buy love. She does not date. It has been more than three years since her divorce. She is overly suspicious of any man who shows interest in her. It is everyone’s hope that time will dull her bitter insistence that every man is dishonest and a cheater.

At least, we hope so. Sarah deserves a break in the true love game. Eventually, she will get off the bench and get back in the game. Relationships are hard, which is why many don’t last. My friend is not the type to be alone for the rest of her life. Her recovery will be slow, but she will recover and find love again. At least, that is my hope.
