What Surprised Me Most About Learning Databricks
I started learning Databricks expecting a complex setup with multiple configurations, but the biggest surprise for me was how beginner-friendly the learning experience actually felt.
Since the environment is already managed, I could focus directly on understanding Spark, SQL, and Delta Lake concepts instead of spending time setting up dependencies locally. That made learning much smoother, especially as someone still exploring modern data engineering tools.
Another thing that surprised me was how connected everything feels inside Databricks. Notebooks, SQL queries, data transformations, and Delta tables work together in a way that makes experimentation easier. It feels more practical compared to learning concepts separately from different tools.
Even though I’m still at the beginning of my journey, Databricks already changed how I think about scalable data pipelines and modern analytics platforms. It made data engineering feel less theoretical and much more hands-on.
