What We’ve Seen: Voting in Real Life Isn’t Clean or Quiet

Here’s the truth: At most events, your typical voter isn’t calmly sitting in front of a laptop with Wi-Fi. They’re in a loud space. They might be:

• Holding a baby
• Running low on data
• Struggling with poor network bars
• Being asked to vote in a rush, in the middle of a program

Even one extra step can create confusion — and our goal is to make every voter feel confident and included.

That’s why we go to the field. We’ve stood beside voters as they tried to cast their votes. We’ve watched aunties hand their phones to grandkids for help. We’ve seen students anxiously refreshing their screens when network delays hit.

Every moment like that feeds directly into our design approach.

Features Born From Fieldwork, Not Guesswork

• BuddyVotes Terminal: Created after seeing fans stuck with poor network access. We built an on-site system with strong signal and super-simple flows — vote with ease, even without a smartphone.
• Bulk Voting Bundles: Supporters said, “Just let us buy 200 votes at once like MTN bundles.” So we made it that easy — clean interface, one tap, done.
• Accessibility-First Improvements: From larger text and payment fallback systems to smart notifications — every change came from real use in live settings.

1. Design for Energy, Not Stillness — If someone can’t vote with music blasting and emcees shouting — we’ve missed the mark.
2. Every Extra Step Risks Excluding Someone — We eliminate friction.
3. Onboarding Should Take Seconds — If it needs an explainer, it’s too complex.

5. Listen, Build, Iterate & Repeat — We don’t wait for feedback surveys. We go to the event and ask people directly.
