For whatever anyone is addicted to, they will always find a way to gain access to it and fund it.

A drug addict will always have a way to locate his kind and get a supply of drugs to satisfy his addiction.

A sex addict will always have a way of locating and attracting his kind to satisfy his addiction.

Even a poor and broke alcoholic will always have a way of getting (money for) alcohol to satisfy his addiction.

Keeping this fact in mind, imagine playing a reverse psychology game on your mind and becoming addicted to something good and beneficial.

Imagine being addicted to God and His kingdom. It means God will fund your addiction.

Imagine being addicted to wealth creation. Imagine being addicted to learning and knowledge. Imagine being addicted to service.

You name it...

Another important fact to understand is that the spirit of addiction provides for the addict to keep the addict bound and loyal to it for as long as it can.

This is the reason drug, alcohol, or sex addicts find it difficult to break free from their addiction even when they don't want to indulge in the acts.

It takes a higher and more stronger force or spirit to break free from the spirit of addiction.

However, when an addict breaks free from a particular addiction, he must consciously work to get addicted to another better and helpful addiction.

This is because, this world does not give room for vacuum. No one sits on the fence. There's no staying in limbo on earth. You are either here or there. You are either addicted to something consciously or addicted to another unconsciously.

This is why when land is left uncultivated, weeds will start growing on it. When a building is left uninhabited, it starts dilapidating. When a car is left unused, it starts wearing away. When the mind is left fallow, evil and lazy thoughts start settling in it.

And because we live in a decaying world, evil tends to happen and grow faster in an uncultivated land/heart.

When the world notices a vacuum in any life, it channels evil towards it by default.

Even the Bible said that when an unclean spirit is cast out, it travels through dry places seeking rest. When it finds none, it returns to the person (the house from where it was cast out), and, if it finds it empty, swept, and garnished, it brings back seven spirits more wicked than itself, making the person's final state worse than the first. [Matthew 12:43-45]

In Colossians 1:13, Apostle Paul records that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

Notice that He didn't deliver us and left us hanging in a vacuum. But He conveyed us into a better and higher kingdom.

We are all servants to something or an entity—either willingly or unwillingly; consciously or unconsciously.

In Matthew 6:24, Jesus pointed out that "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other." You cannot serve God and mammon.

So, my question to you is this: "What are you addicted to?"

Choose your addiction wisely! Because "the spirit of addiction will provide for the addict."
