#Early January

Hospital — Happy New Year

I’d like to share a few updates about how things are. To begin, I spent my new year’s eve and literally the first day of 2026 in the emergency ward of a hospital near our house. I had a high BP of 147/90 (high for me — and the highest was 150/95). My wife told me that I probably got so worked up by someone I used to do business with. I told her I don’t normally get that stressed with just that — I have dealt with bullies before and this was not my first rodeo. But perhaps it was a combination of things.

I had to fire a couple of people from the team who were underperforming, but also undermining my work and reputation. I had to deal with the mess and begin the clean up.

My wife and I had to go to NBI to file report about a scam. We had to address this, file appropriate complaints to the authorities, and also file report to the banks, and all. On top of that, we’re busy with the preparation to move back to my wife’s hometown for good.

Hospital Session 2

Then just before the month end, another tragedy struck. We were informed that our aunt (my wife’s side) were found unconscious in the bathroom (after she didn’t show up at an event; she has been unconscious for sometime already ). She was brought to the hospital (and was rushed to St. Luke’s hospital because she’s in a coma and specialists needed to look into her condition. That night, the CT scan confirmed that she suffered from a ruptured Aneurysm. The prognosis was bad. The family fought for her as much as she can. She was in the ICU for a week, then she passed. We were in her wake and then during the burial. This was for a good 2 weeks.

#Mid-February

One of our good and lead software engineers filed his resignation. Of course, I’m affected because I liked the guy and he’s reliable and capable. This puts quite a strain to the rest of the team. Good thing that we’re able to agree on a flexible arrangement to continue supporting some core functions.

Then, came my birthday. It was just like any other day. I’m never big about celebrating my own birthday nor ever asked for it. I’m truly OK with people remembering that day and with a simple sincere greeting was something I appreciate already.

Nothing fancy but I am reminded that life has to be purposeful. Life must make sense and it can only make sense with the purpose the Lord has given us. That all is vanity apart from Him.

#1st half of March

I started actively reconnecting with my network for business opportunities, possible investments to my company. I am convinced that this is a great time to raise external capital as the business has demonstrated resilience, discipline, and real value.

Yet, it’s funny that even your long time shareholders/investors have also ghosted you. I prepared a well documented IC Memo to them, and nothing. No reaction and no reply. This is pretty gut wrenching as a now solo-founder operator of the business dealing with so many facets of this business.

#Gloomy today… but It’s Not all Gloomy, if I think deep more about it….

That in spite of the disappointments this world gives us, we can gaze to the glory and security we can only find from the God of Hope, Jesus Christ, who gives us transcendental joy and peace.

I’m relieved that the Lord sustains His church and those who are His, because if not for His grace, I’d fall and would never get up. There is no hope apart from Him. I’m blessed that He gave me a life of forever grace, and the assurance of my inclusion to His heavenly and eternal promises to His people.
