Is It Just Me, or Everyone?

I tend to assume that the thoughts and opinions I have are things everyone’s thought about at some point. When I’m talking with someone and they bring up something, I often find myself thinking, “Yeah, I’ve thought about that too.” It’s happened so many times that I’ve come to see myself as part of the majority.

Maybe that’s why I feel a certain admiration for those in the minority. Lately, I’ve found myself wanting to know whether my ideas fall into the majority or minority. It’s not about being right or wrong — just a desire to understand where I stand.

That’s really all there is to it.
