Southern Methodist University Launches Arts Center Renovations

Texas-based business executive Nate Crain serves as president of Crain Information Systems, Inc., a technology solutions company he founded in 1995. Prior to launching his career, Nate Crain attended Southern Methodist University where he earned a bachelor’s in political science. He maintains close ties to his alma mater, which he has served in various capacities over the years.

Thanks to funding from Gene and Jerry Jones and The Meadow Foundation, Inc., Southern Methodist University’s Owen Arts Center will have a new east entrance featuring an expanded lobby and new landscaping along Bishop Boulevard. The project was funded as part of larger renovation efforts focused on the Owen Arts Center, which is the university’s largest building.

In addition to establishing a new outdoor courtyard and grand lobby area, the project will create new learning spaces and update existing facilities for visual arts, art history, and creative computation students. Eventually, all four floors on the north side of the center will be modernized as part of the $30-million-dollar renovation.
