I Sought Serenity

Aflame with a madness

I sought serenity in a time of great fears, all the world somehow seemed to be aflame,

Aflame with a madness, that would consume us, who dared to venture far too close again

Again, I tried reason, I tried to think it through, take an “enlightened” point of view, but who …

But who would yield the time to hear what I might say, to listen to words too sublime, to stay ...

To stay for one moment, be still for just this once, ignore the need to throw away our truth.

I sought with a madness, I tried to think it through, to listen to words too sublime, our truth.
