because at this age, i lost count on how many times i feel like i’m losing myself.

those sleepless nights, silent cries, while begging to God that everything might be alright someday. that i will get my endless love back and finally be alive again.

those days i began to doubt my capability to be recognized. i fail, fall, and regret day by day and start to question, “will they still love me if i’m bound to lose every time?”

and not just because i haven’t done anything properly, but i even start to think myself as annoying and unlovable (again) after so long i haven’t think like that.

those emotions, sounds of heart breaking, and not the best experiences, well who wants to remember all of that?

no wonder the taylor swift herself writes “bittersweet sixteen suddenly” on her song. because being sixteen is bittersweet. and, i hope i’ll get to reap the sweetest leftover of my teenage years, after not being able to cherish it fully.

and i do want to forget what it feels like to be sixteen,

but at the same time i don’t.

sweet seventeen, i hope you’ll get everything you ever wished and hoped for.
