The Worst Food I’ve Ever Had

Whenever an event involving food is in the works, everyone asks you what your favorite foods are, but they rarely ask what foods you don’t like.

Or what the worst dishes you’ve ever had.

At least in my experience.

What’s the Worst Food I’ve Eaten

While I’m sure others exist, these are the ones I can recall clearly.

Beer Cheese Soup

One of my mom’s food experiments. I don’t know who came up with the recipe, but it inflicted food trauma on me forever.

It looked like a cheese dip, but it only tasted of beer, and I find beer disgusting.

She never made it again.

Sweet and Sour Cabbage

This was another food experiment by my mom. It was not nearly as bad as the soup, but there was no sweet, only sour, and I’m not a huge fan of sour food.

Another dish never made again.

My Ex’s Grandma’s Spaghetti

This one was especially disappointing since I love pasta.

It was my first relationship; I was at his house, and his grandma made spaghetti. And I was excited about it.

But when I took that first bite, I used all my willpower not to spit it out. It had those tiny smoked sausages you see in BBQ sauce at potlucks, contaminating everything.

Other Dishes I Don’t Like

There are a few dishes that aren’t disgusting but also aren’t a favorite of mine.

Pho

I tried it the other day with my friend, and while it wasn’t bad, I just didn’t care for the flavor of the broth too much.

I didn’t eat much of mine.

Pizza

People have a hard time with this one when I tell them, but unless I’m in a pizza mood, I’m not a fan of it.

I don’t know why, either.

Lunch/Canned Meat

I’ve never cared for things like sliced turkey or ham. Or canned meat like Spam.

Carmel

Everyone else seems to like this sweet syrup except me. It’s just too sweet for me.

Milk/White Chocolate

I will admit I’m a chocolate snob, but milk chocolate doesn’t appeal to me. And don’t get me started on white chocolate, which isn’t even actual chocolate.

Lasagna

The one type of pasta dish I don’t care for. And don’t ask. I’m still trying to figure out why.

Maybe there’s just too much cheese for my liking.

Will My Opinion About These Foods Change?

While I can’t deny that my taste buds might drastically change as I age, I can’t see myself loving these foods anytime soon.

But I wouldn’t mind being proven wrong.
