Is the sales and marketing sector easy or what?

I have been working in this position in a food company for about 4 months. Contrary to popular belief, managing a sales operation is a really difficult job. Although it is easy to learn, managing this business is a very stressful process, of course. Although I did not take any theoretical courses about sales or marketing as a 5-year economics graduate, I have customers with whom I am progressing very well. But it is a very stressful process. So what difficulties are here?

1. Balance: Companies must find the right balance between acquisition and retention efforts in order to build and maintain a healthy customer base.
2. Coordination: Compliance with other departments is a very important point for the successful continuation of the sales operation. Marketing and sales departments must coordinate with other departments within a company, such as product development and manufacturing, purchasing, to ensure their efforts are aligned and effective.
3. Stay updated: Technology and consumer behavior are constantly evolving and sometimes I can’t keep up. Being up-to-date and constantly reading, researching and following other companies’ innovations are another step that marketing and sales departments should pay attention to in order to stay relevant and competitive.
4. R&D: I think my favorite part of my job is to contribute to the R&D department and contribute to the development of a new product. Although this sounds fun, balancing creativity and consistency unfortunately puts a stop to this fun. To be effective, marketing and sales efforts need to be both creative and consistent. It is wise to be careful, as it can be difficult to strike the right balance between these two elements.
