It all started with a simple observation.
In my electronics lab, I often found myself struggling — not because the concepts were difficult, but because the process was. Taking manual readings, adjusting instruments, writing down values… it felt slow, repetitive, and sometimes confusing. I wondered:
“Why can’t this be smarter?”
That question stayed with me.
The Beginning of My Journey
When I got the opportunity to work at the Cyber Physical Systems Lab, University of Delhi South Campus, I knew this was my chance to turn that question into something real.
I wasn’t just going to learn — I was going to build.
My project was clear: Develop a Smart Practical Kit for Electronics Students
A system that could make lab experiments faster, more accurate, and more interactive.
Turning an Idea into Reality
At first, it sounded simple. But as I started working, I realized how deep the problem really was.
Traditional labs lacked:
- Real-time monitoring
- Automation
- Visualization
So I began building something that could solve all of this.
Piece by piece.
Building the Hardware
The first step was hardware — the heart of the system.
I designed and developed:
- A DC Voltmeter using LM358
- A DC Ammeter using ADS1115
- A Variable Power Supply using LM317
At one point, circuits didn’t behave as expected. Readings fluctuated. Noise appeared. Nothing worked perfectly.
But that’s where the real learning happened.
I spent hours debugging, testing, and recalibrating — slowly turning unstable circuits into reliable modules.
Bringing It to Life with Software
Hardware alone wasn’t enough.
I wanted students to see what was happening in real time.
So I built a Flutter application that:
- Displays live voltage and current
- Plots graphs like I-V characteristics
- Makes experiments interactive and visual
Seeing the graph update in real time for the first time… That moment made everything worth it.
Beyond Just a Project
As I worked further, I realized this project could also help students learn better.
So I created an ESP32 Learning Guide — a resource that connects theory with practical implementation.
Because understanding why something works is just as important as how it works.
Where I Stand Today
Right now, my project is about 75–80% complete.
I have:
- Built the core hardware
- Developed the initial software
- Implemented basic experiments like PN junction diode
And currently, I’m working on:
- Final integration of hardware and software
- Improving accuracy
- Enhancing the user interface
- Exploring advanced experiments
Challenges That Shaped Me
This journey wasn’t easy.
There were moments when:
- Circuits failed repeatedly
- Readings made no sense
- Time felt insufficient
But every problem taught me something:
- How to debug patiently
- How to think practically
- How to keep going even when things don’t work
What I Learned
This internship changed the way I see engineering.
I didn’t just learn concepts — I learned how to apply them.
I gained:
- Hands-on experience in embedded systems
- Confidence in circuit design
- Skills in Flutter development
- Real-world problem-solving ability
More importantly, I learned that innovation starts with noticing small problems.
Looking Ahead
The journey isn’t over yet.
In the coming weeks, I aim to:
- Complete full system integration
- Add advanced experiments
- Refine the overall user experience
And finally… deliver a system that can truly improve how electronics is learned.
A Moment of Gratitude
I am deeply grateful to my mentors and the CPS Lab team for their constant guidance and support.
Their encouragement helped me push beyond my limits and turn an idea into reality.

This internship wasn’t just about building a project.
It was about transforming a simple question into a working solution.
