New Drill Life… Thanks Greenworks!

Just picked up this Greenworks 24V Brushless Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit for under $100. Best purchase in ages: bidirectional USB-C PD batteries double as power banks, plus a 65W charger.

Only two brands do this natively, Greenworks and Skil. Craftsman needs a $150+ attachment. In 2026, it’s nuts most $300+ drills lack USB-C output. Batteries hit landfills too soon without extra life.

To me, it’s like buying a $400 bike in 2030 with the back-brakes.

Kit includes two 2.0Ah (48Wh each) batteries, braided cables, and the brick with an Impact Drill and Drill Driver and some bits/clips/manual. Full charge: 70 minutes at 72W. Peak value per dollar.

My 2010 Craftsman 12V still runs, I’ve built wood fences, birdhouses, wood benches, installed ceiling fans and you name it, I’ve probably done it. Selling on Marketplace for $5, or it’ll be a backup that never gets used.

The drill progress in 16 years = lighter and stronger. I debated getting an 18v or 20v or 21v drill but it doesn’t make sense to not double-down from what I currently have, a decent 5 out of 10 Craftsman 12v drill that’ll last forever.

Metal chuck, rubber grip, plastic switches. Solid 7.8 out of 10 for durability & comfort.

Skipped a $75 Marketplace DeWalt — maybe 10% better, but no innovation edge. All big brands (Milwaukee, Ryobi, DeWalt) made in China/Vietnam, interlocking monopoly companies. Pfff.

For $100, this is what I would consider a hidden gem:

• (1) Impact Driver
• (1) Drill Driver
• (2) power banks batteries (typical 12,000mAh: $18 each). Equals ~1/6th a $160 Jackery 300 (293Wh).
• 65w Bricker Charger $16 value + (2) braided cables
• (1) Bag
• (2) Bits + (2) Metal Clips and paper instructions

I tried to find a deal WITHOUT a bag, because I think they’re worthless… but I couldn’t save any money and get a kit without one.

Brick Specs and Size Comparison

I’d pay up to $155 now, assuming 5–10 year life. I watched every video on YouTube before purhcase, that goes back UPTO 2 years and I think this is peak spending power for US Dollar and if you are shopping around for a tool, and don’t plan on dropping your drills from the top of a roof, I think you’ll be very happy with this.

Incredible difference between the 12v and new 24v setup, I was actually kind of blown away with what I was settling for over the past several years… I should’ve done this upgrade years ago.

• 1" spade bit in scrap wood.
• 1–1/4" hole saw.
• 3" deck screws (impact).
• iPhone 50–82% charge.
• Garage tweaks.

What we know: Kit delivers torque (400 in-lbs drill, 1950 impact), light weight, power bank feature verified. Check Trustpilot for service issues; test your projects match specs. Not sure on long-term durability vs DeWalt.
