But what’s scarier isn’t that. The film shows the government building a “sonar” — a device that emits sounds to drive animals out of the forest. It sounds innovative. But the implication is terrifying. Today it’s for animals, tomorrow it could be developed into a weapon. That’s a subtle but sharp criticism of officials who destroy nature for projects and new communities, without thinking about the long-term consequences.

I’m not going to talk about the cinematography. Pixar visuals are already a standard. What I’m highlighting is the thread of the story: this is entertainment and a warning at the same time. There’s a human message, there’s laughter, but you leave the theater thinking.
