PMR MAN 1 Yogyakarta Marks 31st Anniversary with Gratitude and Togetherness

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — The Red Cross Youth (PMR) unit of MAN 1 Yogyakarta celebrated its 31st anniversary with a series of activities reflecting gratitude, unity, and a continued commitment to humanitarian values on Thursday (April 16, 2026).

The event followed the successful implementation of PRAJA (Pelajar Relawan Jelajah Aksi), extending the organization’s program of student-led initiatives. The anniversary marked an important milestone for PMR DKD Unit 28, which was established in 1995.

The celebration began with an opening speech from the organizing committee, expressing appreciation to all parties who contributed to the event. This was followed by remarks from PMR advisor Esti Supeni, who emphasized the importance of sustaining the spirit of humanitarian service among younger generations.

“We hope that through this 31st anniversary, PMR DKD Unit 28 will grow stronger, continue to develop, and produce young volunteers who are compassionate, caring, and ready to help others,” she said.

In a separate statement, Head of MAN 1 Yogyakarta, Edi Triyanto, S.Ag., S.Pd., M.Pd., highlighted that the anniversary is more than a ceremonial occasion, describing it as a meaningful moment for character building.

“This anniversary serves as both a reflection of the journey and a reinforcement of our commitment to nurturing humanitarian values among students. We hope PMR MAN 1 Yogyakarta continues to grow as a platform that develops not only skills, but also empathy and social awareness,” he said.

As a symbol of gratitude, the event included a traditional tumpeng cutting ceremony, representing hopes for blessings, unity, and the sustainability of the organization. The sense of togetherness was evident as participants engaged enthusiastically throughout the program.

The celebration continued with interactive fun games involving all participants. In these activities, students were challenged to categorize various medicines, medical tools, and first aid equipment correctly. The games not only provided entertainment but also reinforced participants’ understanding of Red Cross knowledge in an engaging way.

The 31st anniversary celebration concluded on a joyful and communal note. The event is expected to strengthen solidarity and further cultivate a spirit of humanitarianism among all members in the years to come. (drc)
