AICTE Scholarships 2025 — Apply Online, Dates & Schemes

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has opened applications for its 2025 scholarships. While the last date to apply for the majority of scholarships is November 15, 2025. The deadline to apply for AICTE GATE Scholarship is December 15, 2025. Some of the key AICTE scholarships are Swanath Scholarship Scheme (for orphans, wards of armed forces personnel, or COVID-19 victims), Saksham Scholarship Scheme (for specially abled students), and the Pragati Scholarship Scheme (for girl students).

In addition, AICTE administers the PM-Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Special Scholarship Scheme for students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and also supports postgraduate students through the AICTE GATE Scholarship. These scholarships aim to remove financial barriers and promote access to quality technical education.

AICTE Scholarships 2025: Important Dates

AICTE scholarships are provided to Indian students to help them pursue higher education without facing any financial difficulty. The list of scholarships offered along with their application deadlines are given in the table below:

AICTE Scholarships Eligibility Criteria 2025

Each AICTE scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria that one must fulfil in order to be a recipient of it. Who can apply for an AICTE scholarship? AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)

1. The applicant must belong to at least one of the following categories:

• Lost either one or both parents due to COVID-19
• Wards of armed forces or central paramilitary forces personnel martyred in action (Shaheed)
• Students whose parents are suffering from critical, life-threatening diseases (e.g., Cancer); or deceased/severely disabled (80% or more) due to accidents, as defined under the RPwD Act, 2016

2. The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.

3. The applicant must be enrolled in a regular mode diploma or degree course (1st to 4th year) at an AICTE-approved institution.

4. The candidate must not be receiving any other scholarship from the central/state government or AICTE at the time of application.

AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Specially Abled Student (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)

• The candidate should be enrolled in a degree level course (1st or 2nd year) through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.
• The applicant must be recognised as a specially-abled student having a disability of not less than 40%.
• The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.

AICTE — Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)

• The girl candidate should be admitted to degree level course (1st or 2nd year) through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.
• A maximum of two female children per family are eligible.
• The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.

PM-USP Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu Kashmir And Ladakh

• Candidates must have a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh.
• They should have passed the class 12 examination from JKBOSE or CBSE-affiliated schools located within these UTs.
• The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹8 lakh.
• For admission under the lateral entry scheme, candidates must hold Diploma in Engineering from polytechnic institutes recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), UTs of J&K and Ladakh.

AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship

• Foreign students, sponsored candidates, and those admitted through the management quota are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Candidates must hold a valid GATE/CEED 2025 score at the time of admission. Admissions outside the validity period of the score will not be considered.
• Candidates enrolled in part-time programs are not eligible.
• Applicants must have an Aadhaar-linked general savings bank account in their own name. Joint accounts, Jan-Dhan accounts, no-frill accounts, or accounts with transaction limits will not be accepted.
• OBC candidates falling under the creamy layer are not eligible for the AICTE GATE scholarship 2025 .
• Candidates applying under SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), or physically handicapped categories must provide a valid certificate. Applications without authentic certificates will not be considered.
• The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of 24 months, or until the completion of the course or thesis submission, whichever occurs earlier.

Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Special Scholarship Scheme For Jammu Kashmir And Ladakh

Graduation: ₹12,000 per annum (First 3 years) and ₹20,000 per annum (Fourth year onwards if its a 4 or 5 year course)

Postgraduation: ₹20,000 per annum

Mere fulfilment of eligibility conditions does not guarantee that you will receive the scholarship amount. Being an apex body, AICTE follows a standardised procedure for the selection of scholars. Here is the detailed selection procedure for AICTE scholarships:

For Degree Courses:

Tie-Breaking Rules (if two candidates have the same percentage):

• Candidates with higher marks in class 10 will get preference.
• If still tied, the elder candidate will get preference.
• If still tied, the candidate with lower annual family income will get preference.

For Diploma Courses

AICTE — Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)

1. Selection is based on merit, i.e., percentage of marks in the 10+2 (or equivalent) exam for admission to the first year or second year (lateral entry) of a technical degree course in any AICTE-approved institution.

2. A State/UT-wise merit list will be prepared according to the number of scholarships available.

3. Tie-breaking (if two or more candidates have the same percentage):

• Candidates with higher marks in class 10 will be ranked higher.
• If still tied, the elder candidate will be ranked higher.

AICTE Scholarship 2025 — Documents Required

While applying for AICTE scholarships, there is a number of documents that are commonly required to be submitted, they are as follows:

• Class 10th mark sheet/certificate

How to Apply through NSP?

Step 1: Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Step 2: First-time applicants must register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) through the new registration option. After completing the form and submitting it, a unique student application ID and password will be generated and sent to the registered mobile number.

Step 3: Open the application form to begin the process by going to the “Apply for Scholarship” section.

Step 4: Applicants should enter all required details, including academic information, personal information, contact details, and scheme-specific data.

Step 5: Applicants must upload the necessary supporting documents in the prescribed format.

Step 6: Once the form and documents are reviewed, applicants must click “Submit” to complete the application process.
