Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh visits Gorakhpur village school

The visit of Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh to a village school in Gorakhpur district infused energy not only among the students but fostered the spirit of education, rural development, youth aspirations, women’s empowerment and nation-building.

The Air Chief Marshal toured the Ramashray Gram Vikas Kendra and Saraswati Gurukul, and interacted with students, children and members of the rural community in Mathabari village of Gorakhpur.

The highlight of the programme was the inauguration of the ‘Vagdevi-Gyanvardhan Kendra’, a digital library established for rural girls.

It has been conceived as a platform to give wings to the dreams, talent, confidence and potential of the girl students.

Addressing the students, the Chief of the Air Staff said the purpose of education is not merely to secure good marks in examinations.

He noted it is equally important to develop values, character, discipline, a sense of responsibility and dedication towards the nation.

He urged young people to take pride in their Indian identity and develop themselves into responsible and true citizens of the country.

He encouraged the rural community to place national interest foremost, and make unity, social harmony, honesty, discipline and respect for the law an integral part of their lives.

The Ramashray Gram Vikas Kendra was established with the spirit of expressing gratitude towards one’s birthplace and motherland through public service. It was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2023.

It is now emerging as a hub for various initiatives related to rural education, healthcare, digital literacy, women’s empowerment and community development.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairman Sanjay Shrinet spoke about the purpose and meaningfulness of life.

He urged young people not to confine their talent, knowledge and energy to personal achievements alone, but to contribute actively to the building of society and the nation.
