Examples & Results vs Words

Words are powerful tools. Who said it can heal or harm you? How it is said can help or hinder. — Annelise Lords

This image is from my breadfruit tree. The one in the middle and the one on the right are examples. The breadfruit on the left is the result. I could tell you anything I want, but you will need the result to connect with my words that could heal and help you. Annelise Lords

I was happy to see Steven, one of my son’s classmates from Primary and High School. Steven was a brilliant child, but he had to raise himself while living with both parents. He did what he wanted, when he wanted, with whomever he wanted. He lived by his own rules while his parents watched.

He did well in school without any parental support. I was amazed by his ability and often wondered, “What if he had the same parental support my sons got?” He would have the world at his hands, feet, and fingertips. He isn’t the only brilliant mind parents ignored or didn’t know. He never got the opportunity to perform at his best, and still managed to outdo many with parental support.

He is in law enforcement and has turned his life around. He is into religion with the intention of saving the world. He is trying to get my sons into it, but they are not interested. So he is trying to convert me so I can convert them.

Our world is changing, and the younger generation here has no interest in Religion. Every human, both children and adults, is fighting something. The plants and animals don’t escape our hell. The harder our lives are, the less time, effort, and resources we have to share with them. Our country is experiencing serious water issues now, and we need rain.

The war and the hell raging in our world are adding to the Mental Health crisis of many, along with the depression many of us are enduring. I listen to him as he tries to win my soul.

I am too old for this. I have lived and seen what religion has done to humanity. I have witnessed more hatred and destruction in the name of God than good. 99.99% of the Christians I know say one thing, but their lives and how they live say another. So do many of the religions here.

I am no longer in religion. I am into God. I do unto others as I would have them do unto me.

“I love what you are doing,” I told him. “But I have seen what religion has done. Their words can’t impact me. But how they lived can.”

With furled brows, he stared at me in curiosity.

I further educate, “I like to check the messenger before I take the message. With religion, your words must match your life and how you live.”

He smiled, and I added more, “You are young. More eyes are on you. Use your life as an example. When they see the results of your life, how you live it, and your success, your words will have more value and effect.”

He smiled, nodding, then said, “So I should live by example first, giving my words more power to impact.”

“Right,” I said, smiling.

He sat in silence, absorbing my words of wisdom.

I took him outside and explained further. To the left are tiny mangoes and mango blossoms. These fruits might not make it. The ones on the right have arrived. They speak the loudest. Their voices will be heard loudly with impact. They are the results. They have survived, so they have vital life lessons to teach, heal, and help.

He nodded in understanding.

For many of us, our lives and how we live them will be more impactful than our words. Let your life speak for you!
