They watch me every night The eyes in the woods glowing like golden embers They watch those eyes slow moving floating between the trunks of trees any soul that dare passes by deceptive eyes piercing the pitch black night my own eyes blink Are those really eyes staring back at me? The eyes of a cryptid? The eyes of a local folklore? Or only the lights of blinking fireflies? Elusive eyes that watch me every night there and gone like golden embers fading into the darkness as my own eyes blink Even when I cannot see them I know that they are there floating between the trunks of trees watching any soul that dare passes by
