MAGA Boycotts Obama Presidential Center After Learning It Contains Dangerous Amounts of Civic Engagement

Conservatives warn 19-acre campus may expose visitors to hope, history, and other known gateways to Marxism

CHICAGO — Calling it “a direct attack on God, America, and properly rectangular buildings,” conservative leaders announced a targeted boycott of the Obama Presidential Center this week after discovering the new 19-acre campus may encourage visitors to think about democracy without first purchasing a commemorative Trump bathrobe.

The backlash began shortly after MAGA commentators viewed photos of the center and concluded that the building’s architecture was not only unattractive, but possibly in violation of several unspoken biblical codes requiring all presidential libraries to resemble either a bank, a fortress, or a luxury hotel with gold elevators.

“This is not what a presidential center should look like,” said one outraged conservative influencer. “A presidential library should inspire patriotism, reverence, and the deep spiritual knowledge that the food court has been leased to a private developer with questionable tax practices.”

President Donald Trump reportedly led the criticism, calling the Obama Center a “total disaster” and comparing the building’s design to a trash can, which aides immediately clarified was not an insult to trash cans, many of which had supported him in key swing states.

“This is what happens when you hire woke people,” Trump told reporters while standing in front of a rendering of his own proposed presidential library, which appeared to include a hotel, a golf simulator, three ballrooms, a crypto kiosk, and a small locked closet labeled “Archives TBD.” “Obama should have hired real construction workers. The best construction workers. People who understand Mob supported concrete, steel, and the importance of putting your name on everything in letters large enough to be seen from low orbit.”

Conservative analysts quickly amplified the concern that the Obama Foundation had prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion over the traditional American construction values of whiteness, suspicion, and guys named Frank yelling near scaffolding.

Pastor Warns Building May Contain Hidden Traces of Democracy

The boycott gained further momentum after MAGA pastor Todd Friel reportedly condemned the center as “diabolical” and warned that its exhibits could function as an anti-Christian activism hub by presenting America as a complex nation with a history rather than a flawless sacred object personally signed by God in cursive.

Religious conservatives expressed particular alarm that visitors might encounter displays about civil rights, civic duty, voting, leadership, community organizing, and other subjects known to cause discomfort in people who prefer their history scrubbed, laminated, and approved by a school board in Texas.

“If children walk into that center and learn that democracy requires participation, accountability, and moral imagination, what happens next?” Friel asked during a broadcast. “They might start asking questions. And questions are the first step toward empathy.”

Friel also took issue with the center’s perceived ideological direction, warning that it could paint America in a negative light by acknowledging that some things have happened in America.

“We cannot allow presidential centers to become places where citizens are encouraged to examine the past,” he said. “That is a slippery slope. First they learn about redlining, then they learn about voting rights, and before you know it, they’re asking why Jesus was never quoted saying, ‘Blessed are the hedge fund managers.’”

Several conservative groups have since released a list of acceptable exhibit topics for future presidential libraries, including “America Has Always Been Perfect,” “Labor Unions: The Real Enemy,” “How Tax Cuts Heal the Soul,” and “Women Smiling Quietly Near Men Who Have Ideas.”

Former Presidents Attend Ceremony, Further Inflaming Man Not Invited

Tensions escalated when former presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden attended the grand dedication ceremony, while Trump was notably absent after not receiving an invitation.

The decision reportedly stunned Trump allies, who argued that excluding the sitting president from a celebration of Barack Obama’s legacy was deeply inappropriate, especially given Trump’s long history of bringing warmth, restraint, and emotional maturity to events involving Barack Obama.

“This was petty,” said one MAGA strategist. “Just because President Trump spent years questioning Obama’s legitimacy, mocking his accomplishments, attacking his character, and comparing his presidential center to a trash receptacle doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have been invited to stand there with a resting Trump face for three hours.”

Sources close to Trump say he would have attended the ceremony had he been invited, though only under the condition that he be allowed to give a 48-minute speech explaining how Obama’s building was too tall, too gray, too expensive, too Black, too Chicago, too book-adjacent, and somehow also too small compared to Trump Tower.

“He just wanted to be part of the moment,” said one aide. “And by ‘part of the moment,’ I mean the center of it.”

The aide added that Trump had already prepared remarks for the occasion, tentatively titled, “Many People Are Saying I Opened Obama’s Library Better Than Obama.”

MAGA Leaders Propose Morally Superior Presidential Library With Hotel, Valet Parking, and No Books

In response to the Obama Center’s opening, several MAGA figures renewed calls for Trump’s own presidential library, which supporters described as a “bold, revenue-positive reimagining of historical memory” anchored by a Miami hotel development, luxury suites, a members-only cigar patio, and a digital archive accessible only after entering a valid credit card number.

Unlike Obama’s center, which includes a digital archive model and community-facing spaces, Trump allies say the Trump Presidential Library would return the country to the sacred tradition of physical documents, assuming any can be located and have not been flushed, boxed, reclassified by vibes, or sold as NFTs.

“This is how you honor a president,” said one conservative donor. “Not with civic engagement. Not with public programming. Not with some elitist obsession with history. You honor a president by creating a destination where ordinary Americans can pay $499 a night to feel close to power while walking past a lobby portrait of a man pointing at himself.”

Plans for the proposed Trump library reportedly include an interactive exhibit called “The Election Was Perfect Until It Was Stolen,” a children’s wing titled “Executive Orders Are Like Magic Spells,” and a replica Oval Office where visitors can experience what it was like to govern by watching cable news while demanding Diet Coke.

Another planned exhibit, “The Presidential Records Experience,” would allow guests to search for missing classified documents in a simulated storage room while a voiceover repeatedly says, “These are mine.”

Experts Confirm Outrage May Be Caused By Prolonged Exposure To Obama Existing

Political observers say the intensity of the backlash suggests the issue may not be architecture, construction practices, digital archives, or even exhibit content, but the continued existence of Barack Obama as a calm, articulate, widely admired public figure who does not appear to need gold furniture to establish authority.

As of press time, MAGA leaders had expanded the boycott to include the Obama Center, Chicago, civic responsibility, Michelle Obama’s voice, and tasteful landscaping.

Trump, meanwhile, was reportedly preparing a new social media post calling the center “ugly, woke, radical, probably illegal, and frankly not even a real library because there is nowhere to check out a signed copy of The Art of the Deal.”
