Describe your experience in the SIG/Section: We have organized sessions in FIP Congress and PSWC. We also organized co-works with another BPS, BPP, and YPG with a symposium, mentoring program, etc. We approved and encouraged the establishment of the Paediatric Formulation Focus Group, PFFG in our SIG. I participated in the BPS meeting on behalf of SIG and reported our activities.

Please discuss a bit about your career path and how you have come to be in your current position: Tetsuya Ozeki graduated from and obtained a Ph.D. at Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences in Japan. He is a full professor of Nagoya City University since 2009. From 2003 to 2004 he worked for the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas as a Visiting Researcher in Prof. Valentino J. Stella’s Lab. He is not only a pharmacist but also a basic scientist in drug formulation and drug delivery. His research focus is on functional Nano/microparticles for inhalation, PLGA nano-, and microparticles, 3D printed medicine, and gold nanoparticles. He is also FIP Congress and PSWC Program Committee Member in the International Pharmaceuticals Federation (FIP).

How do you see the importance of FIP for the Pharmaceutical Profession? FIP is a bridge between clinical pharmacists and pharmacy scientists. It also contributes to the internationalization of pharmacist education.

Please share any suggestions or advice for early career pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists: I think that pharmacists and pharmacy scientists in all fields should always be aware of their future vision. In the future, we also need a bird’s-eye view. However, at the early carrier stage, it’s important to immerse yourself in your current job.

How do you see the work and impact of YPG for early career pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists? I think YPG gives young pharmacists and pharmacy scientists the opportunity to have international awareness.

Please talk about past and current projects of this SIG/Section that you were involved in or passionate about: I started and organized Drug Delivery and Manufacturing in the first place. It is important for me to interact with SIG members.
