Zippo’s Cirque Berserk — Jaw-dropping Theatrical Entertainment.

It is rare for me to be this enthralled.

If I did run away to join Cirque Berserk, I would need a lot more than mere physical flexibility.

The performers in this show are fearless, fabulous, and fantastical.

From the steampunk-style outfits to the breathtaking performances — start to finish — all of my senses were alert and agog.

I cannot begin to imagine the dedication and focus it takes to perform these acts.

Not one of these performers can afford to have an “off’ day or lose concentration.

I can’t imagine they are thinking about what to have for dinner as they spin, whizz, flex, and juggle around the stage.

I have never seen a tightrope performance where not all of the performers wear a wire.

It’s surprising that I didn’t faint given how much time I spent holding my breath.

The lady standing on the shoulders of the gentleman below did wear a wire, but he didn’t. His missteps, undoubtedly intended to heighten the drama, elicited gasps from the crowd around the big top.

I haven’t had outfit envy since Jodie Comer wore those cartoon pyjamas in Killing Eve.

If only I had occasion to dress up like this.

What you can’t tell from the photographs below is that the balls sounded as heavy as cannonballs when they were dropped on the floor.

These performers are like superheroes!

The spherical structure below is known as the ‘Thunderbolt’.

It felt awe-inspiring enough when two motorcyclists entered to whizz around the lady who bravely stood in the centre, but when she left, another motorcyclist entered, and then another.

Watching those four motorcyclists whizzing around in there, avoiding one another, boggled my mind.

Never have I been more mesmerised!

We chose to sit in the front row, a decision I’m glad we made because it allowed us to be up close and personal with these incredibly talented artists, allowing us to express our appreciation through clapping, smiling, and hollering.
