A Journey of the Musical Challenged

When I was an ambitious — sixteen I desired — to embrace — the rock scene. I attempted to join — my friend’s band That certainly — did not go — as planned.
As lead singer — I fired the words — out With their instruments — they did me — clout. The pain to their ears was — unforeseen And their remarks were — wholly obscene.
I could not handle — the beat — on drums Keyboard — I was all — fingers and thumbs. No-one would lend me — their own guitar Blocked — from being — a string plucking tzar.
My rhythm caused a deafening — scandal Keeping in time — I could not handle. Perhaps music was not in — my gene But — my rise to fame — I had foreseen.
I sniveled and moaned — they were unkind My untapped gifts had been much — maligned. Taking pity — my friend said — Coleen Why don’t you try — this aged tambourine.
I held the instrument — but wasn’t keen Playing it — seemed boring and — routine. But as I shook — the whole thing — around The sound it produced — did me — astound.
Shaking my wrist — the zills — brashly roll The more — I rocked — I was in control. This was heaven — I began to preen I emerged — a teen tambourine queen.
