No Divisions

10 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all [f]agree and that there be no [g]divisions among you, but that you be [h]made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.(1 Cor. 1)

Unfortunately, as unbelievers are so willing to point out, there are divisions among the church today. One could use the unbelievers’ figure of 40,000 denominations as an indication that there are 40,000 divisions among the church.

The figure has been estimated now at 45,000, but we need to remove all the cults from that list, as while they call themselves Christian, they are not. ( source) Laziness is one reason why people include false teachers in the Christian category.

The sad reality is that these tens of thousands of denominations were most often birthed by continuous disagreements among believers (though some denominations were naturally created by means of localized culture and proximity [or lack thereof] to other churches).(Ibid)

They do not want to do the work to find the disqualifying features of some denominations that exclude them from being called Christian. Laziness is one reason why there are so many divisions among the church.

People would rather interpret and assume or leap to a conclusion about a passage of scripture and what it means/says, instead of taking the time to fully learn and understand what God is saying. That is why we have so many problems in the world today.

The church proclaims bad ideas about the content of the Bible and what it says. Sadly, the people of the church lap it up because that is what they were taught to do- blindly accept what some church leaders say. We see this situation in many mega church congregations.

One of the divisions we see in the church is the failure to defend women when they are under attack by a political party and other activists. One example is this supposed women’s museum:

*Democrats revolt over ‘biological’ wording in women’s history museum bill*

House Democrats unanimously rebelled against legislation Thursday directing the construction of a new women’s history museum on the National Mall. Democrats sought to defeat the bill after Republicans limited the institution to biological women and excluded transgender individuals.

At no time should women be subjected to this travesty of thought. The church needs to stand up for women in these situations, as Peter wrote:

You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. (1 Peter 3:7)

Notice the bold words, which we did. They are informing both the husbands and the church that women have equal status in God’s eyes. This means that they should not be subjected to the humiliation of fake women in women-only spaces.

The inclusion of fake women in women-only spaces and the idea that men can transition to women can be opposed by Christian. This thinking is not of God, not a command nor an instruction of God; thus, like illegal immigration, it can be fought against without fear and guilt.

No one is sinning when they oppose these activists and the political party. They are not violating the many scriptures cited by some misinformed members of the church because those misinformed members are misapplying those scriptures and harming their true neighbors.

The people violating those oft-quoted scriptures are the ones who advocate that fake women are real women and deserve to be included in women’s activities. We know that some Republicans opposed the bill for the museum, but their objection is reasonable and understandable:

The defecting Republicans objected to the measure over concerns about whether a women’s history museum was necessary and because the bill did not include protections against left-wing content from appearing in the institution,” a source familiar told Fox News Digital.(Ibid)

Yes, if you are going to have a museum for women, such protections are needed and vital. Trans women are not real women. Just like trans men are not real men, and they should not be given access to male-only spaces, etc.

There is another issue involved here, and it took place recently at a California sports meet:

*Trans athlete shares first place with girls at high school track meet after policy change*

The mother of a male athlete who took first place in several girls’ track and field contests criticized a state athletic policy that resulted in her son sharing first place with female athletes who finished just behind him.

Nereyda “Nena” Hernandez is the mother of AB Hernandez, a teenage boy who identifies as female. Hernandez represented Jurupa Valley High School at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division 3 finals over the weekend, winning the high jump, long jump and triple jump competitions.

The church needs to instruct these women on the realities of life, biology, and scripture. A mother’s love does not overrule the biblical content. Her love for her son is misplaced, and it has allowed her son to take a path that leads to destruction.

That is not right, nor is it love. One reason there are divisions in the church is that many Christians cannot see this fact. As we have written before in other articles, love does not lead people to sin nor support them while living a very sinful life.

That lack of understanding of what love means has also caused divisions in the church. People want love to mean what they want it to mean or how the unchurched world defines the term. They do not want to accept God’s definition of love because it means doing the hard work and excluding those who opt for sinful ideologies from the church.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, we are not talking about what the democrats have said about celebrating with Republican family members (they aren’t supposed to do it), nor are we talking about what cults do and have no communication with these people.

We are saying they are not allowed in church leadership, not allowed to spread their false gospel to other church members, and they need to be told to repent of their sins. Love still helps these people, but not in a way that encourages or supports their false beliefs. But in a way that helps lead the sinful to repentance.

This brings us to one final point to discuss. There are divisions in the church because church members have different views of right and wrong, morality and immorality, and good and evil. Not every church member agrees on these standards.

Which is why there are over 40,000 ‘Christian’ denominations. If one wants no divisions in the church, then they must return to the apostles’ teaching and do the work to fully understand what they taught. Then live by those lessons.

Unity and a lack of divisions do not come via personal interpretation of the biblical content. It comes from following the Spirit of Truth to the truth, then accepting and living by those results. We follow the Bible correctly to be unified and make a great impact for God.
