I don't think I'll ever forget that moment.

Not because they were disappointed in me.

But because I was.

I kept staring at that list, reading it over and over, as if my name would magically appear if I looked hard enough. It didn’t. And for the first time in my life, I had to face a version of myself I had never imagined.

The one who failed.

Imagine spending years building your life around being "the smart one," "the achiever," or "the student who always gets it done," losing that title feels like losing a part of yourself.

I didn't know how to introduce myself without my achievements.

I didn't know how to look at my parents without feeling like I had let them down, even when they never once made me feel that way.

The hardest part wasn't repeating my final year.
