A New York Times Reporter Said Charlie Kirk Did Politics ‘the Right Way’

So…we’re gonna do all this for a bigot?

So Charlie Kirk has recently died and a large number of people are trying to portray him as some sort of moderate. Governor Pritzker of Illinois said something but he made clear Trump isn’t exactly blameless in all this. Newsom…kinda praised him.

But Ezra Klein, a pretty big name at the New York Times, put out an article that was just….

I mean, it starts out exactly how you would expect, with Klein saying we need ‘politics without fear of violence.’ That’s fair, I agree. It makes sense to say that here.

But then he said this.

‘Kirk was practicing politics in exactly the right way. He was showing up to campuses and talking with anyone who would talk to him.’

And he just HAD to throw in some classic hippie punching too.

‘When the left thought its hold on the hearts and minds of college students was nearly absolute, Kirk showed up again and again to break it. Slowly, then all at once, he did. College-age voters shifted sharply right in the 2024 election.’

Well OF COURSE that’s all that matters here right?

Not what the man said or believed, not the fact that the Right’s words often lead to violence (eg-Pizzagate and Jan 6th), what really matters is that he won his party the 2024 election.

Look, I’m not trying to say Kirk deserved to die or anything but why are you trying to praise this man?

For one thing, he didn’t seem to think Martin Luther King Jr. deserves praised after his death.

‘I haven’t even done my show yet on MLK Jr. and already it’s clear to me that I have found the sacred cow of modern America.

Ask yourself, why is exposing the flaws of MLK’s life and character — something he said we should judge others by — so controversial?’ https://x.com/charliekirk11/status/1746937327182856602

He didn’t seem to have too much of a problem with violent rhetoric.

He threatened Fauci.

“The people need to rise up .. We are going to create criminal referrals .. Maybe he broke state-based laws .. that state AGs may be able to indict him. There needs to be an example made of him.” https://x.com/RonFilipkowski/status/1488971605237809156

3 months before that, a heavily armed man was caught trying to kill Fauci, calling him ‘evil.’

In July the year before, a man was arrested after sending a number of threatening emails to Fauci.

You tell me how you think that happened.

Oh, also, he suggested Trump’s opponents should be publicly executed.

I just don’t get this need some people have now to idealize this man’s life, to act like he was a good person.

If you don’t wanna bring up what he said, fair enough, but don’t lie to people.

And don’t gaslight the people he’s helped threaten. Trump’s era means tweets, videos and ‘debates’ can very easily lead to real world violence. It doesn’t just stop there, Trump is now going after Minnesota because of a picture of a trans kid on the softball team. He’s going after Texas A&M because a professor was teaching about gender. Laura Loomer’s tweets seem to have real influence on how the President acts.

And let’s not forget that the media ADMITS he has influence on the government.

The President, the Vice President, the Speaker and a whole half of the House mourned his death.

They’re even hanging a flag at half-staff.

There’s people IN EUROPE observing a moment of silence.

I’m not saying he deserved to die, I think he was bleeding out for like two hours.

I can’t even watch the video of him getting shot.

But lets not act like he didn’t threaten people, lets not guilt trip people he scared.

Articles like this are the reason people don’t trust the Democratic Party. Ezra Klein, in a way, is the Dem equivalent of Kirk. We use news media to represent the liberal brand.

We don’t know the people in Congress but we know people like Klein and the Dems in Congress listen to him more than us.

So he fucks the Dems’ image when he talks like this.

THIS is why BlueSky hates and distrusts Dems so much.

But I guess that’s why he admires Kirk so much, he sees this connection and envies him.

He said it explicitly.

These people want all this credit for what happens with Dems but none of the responsibility.

They want to blame Leftists for alienating people but then think its nothing at all when they try to praise extremists.

You start to wonder if they just see influencers and power brokers like themselves as a distinct class and respect each other more than the rest of us.
