There’s a common view of the EU AI Act. Many see it as a compliance exercise. Something legal teams will eventually handle, supported by consultants and tools.

But this perspective misses the bigger picture. The Act is not only about setting rules. It forces organizations to examine how they use AI across their entire operations.

And that changes who needs to be involved.

Every organization using AI now has responsibilities. Yet very few have a clear, operational understanding of:

• What systems they are using
• How those systems affect people
• Who is accountable
• And what needs to be documented

This is not just a legal gap. It is an organizational oversight. It appears everywhere:

• in product decisions
• in HR processes
• in data pipelines
• in operational workflows

This creates a different kind of opportunity. Not just for compliance specialists, but for anyone who can connect these different layers. The valuable role in this moment is not “the expert in the regulation.”

It is the person who can:

• interpret what the regulation means
• translate it into practical steps
• and help teams implement those steps in real systems

In other words, someone who can make the abstract practical and operational.

The window for being “the person who knows this” is open. It closes once this gets mainstream.

This means that timing is also a factor. Currently, this capability is uncommon. Organizations are still figuring out where to begin. Over time, this will become more standardized. Frameworks will emerge, and expectations will become solidified. But before that happens, there is a window where clarity itself is valuable. We are still in that window.
