Springtime Picnic

Can stop for a little rain

The snow was finally gone. Suddenly, blossoms sprang from the Earth in the sunshine. Butterflies flitted lightly about on their migrations. We spread a blanket amongst the greenery and detected the fresh floral scent of the native plants blooming. That, of course, and the pollen.

Then it became breezy as afternoon rain showers brought the Earthy smell of petrichor as we sat in the garden. “So much for our picnic,” we laughed as we quickly redressed and ran for our car.

Once safe from the rain, the clothing came off again and we picked up where we left off.
