Lost Childhood
I went through my photo gallery today. I watched myself and my childhood slip away with every swipe of the finger. Just a graveyard of memories; of bygone eras, of delightful miseries. In the most cliché way possible, I mourned the loss of innocence, of my hopes, and my curiosity.
That girl knew that she would be completely head over heels in love with someone by the time she was my age, she would have her life figured out, and she would be living the dream.
I want her to possess me and bring back the fervour for life I lost. I am just a forlorn husk of what she was.
I wonder if she met me, would she be utterly disappointed in me, or would she give me a hug and understand what has become of me with that big, empathetic heart of hers? I think she would hate me; hate me for what I did to her inquisitive and happy mind.
I don’t even have it in me to apologise to her. I can’t face her and I am glad I will never be able to.
