Today marked the beginning of an unforgettable journey as students, mentors, and teams from all corners of the world arrived in Los Angeles for XCEL 2025. The energy in the air was contagious — excited chatter, warm reunions, and the thrill of finally stepping into a city known for its innovation, diversity, and sunshine.

✈️ Morning to Evening: Waves of Excitement

From early flights to late-night arrivals, the day was filled with hustle at LAX. Volunteers and XCEL staff greeted participants at terminals with bright smiles and signage, helping guide them to their transportation. Shuttle services ran throughout the day, ensuring everyone arrived safely at the host venue and accommodations.

🏨 Check-In & Settling In

Once participants reached the venue, it was time for registration and check-in. Teams received their welcome kits, complete with badges, event schedules, and some surprise goodies. The welcome desk buzzed with activity as students met other teams for the first time, often exchanging handshakes, high-fives, and flags from their home countries.

🌍 First Impressions: A Global Community United

It was powerful to see so many cultures represented under one roof. Whether it was hearing different languages, seeing national team uniforms, or watching groups share stories over meals, today reminded us that XCEL is more than just a competition — it’s a global experience built on friendship, innovation, and growth.

🍽️ Dinner & Downtime

After a long day of travel, dinner was served at the venue cafeteria with a variety of international-friendly options. Teams used the evening to rest, explore the nearby area in small groups, or prep lightly for the busy days ahead.
