What’s In Your Hands?

Quiet time with God led to 12 software products, and one Bible app

One of the most beautiful things you can receive when you spend quality time in fellowship with God is creative ideas and practical solutions to problems. This is what happened to me, a testimony I have to share.

The journey started in February this year, when I asked the Lord how the year would unfold for me. I had been studying His word using the Chronological approach (I wrote an article about this method a few years back), and I was growing spiritually. But I wanted to know: what about the other areas of my life — especially my finances?

His answer wasn’t what I expected. He instructed me to leave the city I was in, go to another city, stay in my room, and wait on Him. He would tell me what to do. I obeyed. And what happened next still amazes me.

The Lord knew my finances had been weighing on me — especially now that I’m married with a child on the way. So He sat me down and asked one question: “What do you have in your hands that I can bless?"

I searched my mind and offered what I had — my writing skills, my editing skills, my musical talent. But He insisted on something else: I needed to create and share, the way the widow did in 2 Kings 4:1-7.

‘“What shall I do for you?” he asked. “Tell me, what do you have at home?.” “Nothing at all, except a small jar of olive oil.” she answered.’ (2 Kings 4:2, GNT)

I told Him I didn’t know what to create.

Then He reminded me of something I’d started a year earlier — an experiment to use AI in building a subtitling tool for editors and content creators, controlled through a command prompt.

Bingo. That was it.

Following His instructions step by step, I built the app — UpShoot Subtitler PR**O **— an AI-powered piece of software. I should say clearly: I’m not a programmer, coder, or software engineer. I simply followed what God told me — which tools to use, how to prompt, what workstation to set up on — and built my first piece of software to His glory. Soon after, a variation followed: UpShoot Transcriber PRO.

Here’s the part that still humbles me. Following His creative leading, I went on to build nine more software programs — all to the glory of God.

Then, one Sunday during a church service, while the pastor was ministering, the Lord spoke again: build a 12th piece of software — a Bible reading and study app. I didn’t hesitate. I started work immediately, and by His grace, SELAH — an AI-powered Bible Study Suite — was born.
