Ballot Question J: Accounts Payable

a different kind of J
the process of paying companies for work done for the city has been plagued with lengthy delays that causes suffering for vendors and jeopardizes ongoing and future city projects.
if passed, the folks tasked with paying 3rd party vendors would shift from the Finance Department to the Comptroller’s office. this may benefit from the comptroller’s office digitizing of bank records and spending board processes, the reorganization and rationalization of accounting standards, and it represents the decentralizing of power in the city away from the the department of finance and the mayor.
there has been no opposition to this measure and nothing jumps out at me as a problem
I’m FOR ballot question J
