How My Writing Has Gone

As a creative writing student who is also disabled, I have found it very challenging sometimes to be able to focus on school, focus on my own writing and deal with my own issues that I gotta deal with every day. It can be very exciting at some point, but it can also be challenging. I also sometimes don't have the motivation to write on my own personal time. Creative writing is something I have been interested in and have been doing since 2020 when the pandemic started. I did not know anything about creative writing at the time so I was just doing what I felt was right. However, I decided to get a degree in creative writing with a focus in fiction writing because I wanted to be able to write things that were the right way.

I have three different genres that I write in. I chose murder mystery because of Law and order SVU. I chose erotica because I genuinely love reading those types of books. I also chose romance for the same reason as I write erotica.

I am currently working on rewriting books that I had previously written before I went back to school for my degree. I'm also writing one of seven books that is a romantic murder mystery series. Most of my books that I have previously written were standalone so they don't have books that follow the book I wrote. I have rewritten the first of my seven book series multiple times and I'm still not happy with it. I have been working with multiple people to help me figure out what I need to fix or change when I'm writing this series.

I am trying to get a following that will be enjoying my books as well. Some of my friends like what I rate which keeps me going. I can never stop thinking about my writing as well. Sometimes my writing gets in the way of my schoolwork because I cannot think about anything else except my books. However, I do continue to do my schoolwork even though my brain wants to work on my books.

So if you want to do creative writing, I encourage you to do it. You won't regret what you write. However the one thing I cannot stress enough is make your writing something that you know others will enjoy because you enjoy it. For instance, my husband and I love Law and order SVU so I knew I wanted to write about murder mystery. When you write if you enjoy reading something and you cannot stop thinking about it then right about it. Create a writing is all about exploring what you enjoy doing.
