Slow life…Is it really slow?
Or just filled with more things we love to do.
At a pace decided by us.
Does slow life mean a lazy life?
Not really. Not all the time. It just means a person pursuing their desires in line with their capacity. The pace can be fast, and the day’s activity can be a multitude of things — things that need to be done and things that we want to do.
There can be hustle in a slow life too!
And multitasking, without feeling the stress and burnout. Burnout occurs from working beyond our capacity and without rest. Burnout occurs when work depletes us rather than recharges us, when our skills and capacity are not in line with the activities of the day.
Balance looks different for different people. Priorities differ not only from person to person but also in different life stages.
Hyper-living can also feel like a slow life to some.
There are labels for life that fall into rigid categories, but the categories themselves are fluid, a continuum and can look different at different stages and for different people. In my opinion, the difference between a fast life and a slow life is not the amount accomplished or the pace, as both labels can have the same amount of accomplishments and pace, but can be differentiated by the people engaged in them, their capacity and their skillset. By traditional labelling, a fast life can feel slow to some, and a slow life can feel full to some.
Purpose is the reason for life. And purpose in itself is a continuum. Lack of purpose is also a purpose to wander and be a vagabond. Purpose determines action and sometimes can be misaligned with one’s capacity and skill.
I think the ultimate goal is a life lived well by whatever definition one holds on it.
