“So many colors to choose from, you chose blue.”
Some people got blue. Some people got silence. Both are still trying to survive growing up.
“So many colors to choose from, you chose blue.”
Some people got blue. Some people got silence. Both are still trying to survive growing up.

Behind every “blue” is a teenager who was terrified of disappointing everyone.
There are so many colors in the world, but somehow, the one that keeps changing people’s lives here is blue.
Just a simple color on a screen. Quiet. Small. Almost ordinary. Yet every year, thousands of teenagers sit in silence at midnight waiting for it, staring at loading pages with trembling hands, pretending they are calm while their entire future feels balanced on one announcement. Some people will see blue and immediately hear their parents exhale in relief from the next room. Some will finally believe that maybe all those sleepless nights meant something after all. Some will cry before they even realize they are crying.
And some people will stare at a red color and suddenly feel very, very small.
I think that’s the cruelest part about growing up. Nobody prepares you for how a single moment can quietly rearrange the way you see yourself. One screen. One sentence. One color. As if years of trying could somehow be compressed into something so simple. Accepted. Not accepted. Blue. Red.
It feels strange, doesn’t it? How we spend most of our teenage years being told that effort always blooms into reward eventually. So we study until our backs ache against chairs, memorize things until words stop sounding real, survive classrooms that make exhaustion look normal, and carry expectations so heavy that sometimes even resting feels illegal.
We keep going because somewhere deep inside us, we believe there will be a moment where life finally softens and says, “You did enough.”

For some people, that moment arrives wearing blue.**
And maybe that is why the color feels so emotional. Not because it is beautiful on its own, but because of everything attached to it.
The fear before it. The hope inside it. The version of yourself that spent months imagining what life would feel like afterward. Blue becomes more than acceptance. It becomes proof that your younger self survived long enough to reach something they once prayed for in silence.
But I keep thinking about the people who did not get their blue this time.
The ones who had already imagined telling their parents. The ones who rehearsed fake calmness in case things went wrong. The ones who now have to act okay while scrolling past celebration posts and congratulation messages that sting more than they should. There is a specific kind of loneliness in watching the world move happily while you are still trying to process disappointment quietly in your bedroom.
And the truth is, not getting blue does not suddenly erase the nights you tried so hard to stay awake.
It does not erase the courage it took to continue studying even when you were exhausted, terrified, burnt out, or secretly convinced you were not smart enough. It does not erase your worth, even if it temporarily steals your confidence.
Sometimes life delays people in ways that feel personal when they are not. Sometimes timing wounds people before it eventually makes sense.
I know that probably does not heal the ache immediately. I know words cannot magically fill the silence after a dream slips through your hands. But I hope you understand this:
There are people carrying brilliance inside them who simply have not arrived at their blue yet.
Yet.
Such a small word, but maybe the softest one we have.
Because maybe your life is not ending here. Maybe this is not the final color you are meant to see. Maybe somewhere in the future, there is another screen, another room, another version of you whose hands are shaking all over again before finally realizing that after all this time, life chose blue for you too.
And when that day comes, I hope you remember this version of yourself gently. The tired one. The disappointed one. The one who kept breathing anyway.
I hope your blue finds you very soon.
