52 Weeks — A Photography Project

June edition

Putting the two in sixty- two

Putting the two in sixty- two

I turn sixty-two this month.

An accomplishment in its own right.

Tourist in my own town — show off a bit

What to share for this prompt, the sunset, the beach, or a temple? It’s hard to think back to when I was a tourist and view the place through those eyes again. Everything felt strange, unknown, and slightly magical.

If I could revisit a film roll from my tourist days, what would I see?

Still lovin' It

Still lovin' It

Old School - interpret that as you will

There are many forms of transportation in Pattaya; mobility scooters figure prominently. I don’t know who belongs to this one, but I like the fact that it’s unabashedly taking its place up front amongst the big bikes, proudly flying its flag.

Life is Beautiful — like the movie or not

I came across this on a walk earlier this month. It’s the contrast between the delicate arrangement and the rough ground that made it meaningful for me. The flowers and banana leaves will turn into compost. The styrofoam will last forever.

What Remains

What Remains

Twisted — like the song or not

I've tried to make it a habit to go to wat more this year.

To walk like the hands of a clock — three times around the Buddha's base.

I take refuge in the Buddha. I take refuge in the Dharma. I take refuge in the Sangha.

Afterwards, I sit among old men and enjoy an ice cream from the vendor parked at the bottom.

That’s the Twist

That’s the Twist

“We cannot live the afternoon of life according to the programme of life’s morning; for what was great in the morning will be little at evening, and what in the morning was true will at evening have become a lie.” — Carl Jung

The photos and the words are mine.

Many thanks to Rodrigo S-C and anyone who takes the time to read.
