The shiny tablets might look cool, To pass along and show in school. But pause a while and take a look At what you’ve got before you’re hooked.

It might seem harmless, just one try, A dare, a laugh, a passing high. But once you start, you’re going off track. Too late — it’s gone; it won’t come back.

The friends will leave, the grades will drop, The facade will fade, the dreams will rot. It’s like a bicycle with training wheels; Remove them, and you’ll lose your ease.

Addiction is a slippery slope; For a while, it might feel ‘dope.’ But when the supply begins to fade, You’ll risk it all for one more trade.

It might seem like a worthy risk To pop a pill and enjoy the bliss. But not all glittering things are gold, One wrong choice can leave you cold.
